Introduction

Every copywriter has their own working process. There are steps, process or a system in place the guide their partnerships with clients. Whatever is in place grounds the work in order, approach and collaboration. That is why I wanted to share my process with you. I want you to know exactly what to expect when you work with me. On my FAQs page, I give you a glimpse of this process. But here, I want to give you the full picture.

My Process

With any clients I work with, I like to keep things simple and effective:

Onboarding

  • I get to know you, your company/organization and your project. I ask questions and engage. But this isn’t a one-way conversation. I tell you about my work and what I’m all about, too. And to be clear: There’s no problem solving here. We’re just getting to know each other.

Setting the stage

  • Together, we set boundaries and expectations. It’s really important that we’re both clear and what we want and how we want it. I want to make your project the success you envision it as. So, this step will help.

Doing the work

  • I gather the requirements of your project and start the research process. This may include interviews with you or your team, further analysis of your content and a thorough read of your industry’s trends and best practices. Then it’s go time! I do my best writing, editing, consulting and/or strategizing to meet your needs and solve your problems.

Check out

  • I will deliver the final project to you. But the work doesn’t stop there. After some time has passed, I’ll check in and follow up with you to see how things are working for you. If we need to make some adjustments, we will.

Over to you

You may have noticed that these steps all involve discussion. I’m a firm believer in collaboration and process. To me, the best planning and writing can’t happen otherwise.
