I’m going to get right to it: I’ve got new nonprofit marketing services!

I’m really excited to share this news with you because it’s been a long time coming. Allow me to explain:

If you’ve been following me on LinkedIn or my blog, you’ll notice my posting has been quite sporadic. Before then, I was posting every week on my blog and every other day on LinkedIn. But then that turned into once a week here or once every two weeks there.

For the last two months, I was updating my services.

Fortunately, I realized that I had to update them to better reflect the needs of the nonprofit sector. However, the underlying motivation had to do with my confidence.

When you work in the nonprofit sector for as long as I have, you know that your experience is all over the place. Specifically, you tend to take on different tasks, jobs and projects. Sometimes, you do this while holding the same job title. Other times, your job title changes on a regular basis. I’ve experienced both scenarios. So, as I was reflecting on my work this year, I realized that I was holding a lot of shame.

Experience is my own

That little voice in my head was telling me that I was not an expert. Unfortunately, I asked myself why I was even offering nonprofit marketing services. Yeah, I got to that place.

So, I was a bit down about it all. I thought about pivoting out of the sector into something more straight forward, like technical writing. Everyone I know who does technical writing has had a steady career. Everyone I know in nonprofit does not. And I felt shame about that. As a result, I started to wonder if I was on the wrong career path.

But then I had an a-ha moment.

It is actually a good thing that my skillset and experience are varied.

Why?

It means that no one can think the way I do, process information the way I do and translate information the way that I do. I occupy a unique space that people have told me is valuable. How I do I know this? They’ve hired me! I’ve gotten the opportunity to work on some really cool projects!

It took reflecting on my career to realize that I was not a problem. I just had to realize the kinds of problems I was solving weren’t reflecting what I’m capable of.

This is why I updated my services.

I am very happy to present my brand new services to you!

So, what’s new about your nonprofit marketing services?

This time around, my services cover five (5) key areas:

  1. Copywriting – copy that inspires the right audience
  2. Editing – polishing your words to perfection
  3. Audit – review of communications and recommendations
  4. Content creation – blog posts, case studies, success stories
  5. Content maintenance – repurpose and refresh content

Furthermore, they have better and more straightforward deliverables. I’ve also revamped my Ready-to-go packages to include repurposing and refreshing content as a separate service. I know that with the fall season around the corner, many nonprofits may not be ready to commit to a complete overhaul. So a repurpose and refresh is the next best thing!

Lastly, my descriptions are better. I tell you what I do, how I do it and what you get. I hope that it’s clear what problem I’m capable of solving and you know which service is best for your organization.

Over to you

We’ve all got something we want to figure out. I had to figure out that I have something important and special to offer to the nonprofit sector.
